Adele Lazzeri (b. Florence, Italy, 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist based in London. Following her postgraduate studies at the Centre of Research of Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP), her pieces emerge from ongoing research into Friedrich Schelling’s First Outline to a Philosophy of Nature, Kant’s Universal Natural History, and the development of sculpture-making as a geological-philosophical act.
Adele Lazzeri’s works are journeys in the production of environments. The result of finding, processing, and most importantly, pouring, a mixture of earth and water. Tectonic plates of gritty sand sink, and moving quickly, claim their place. Small islands of crushed rocks and plant-like particulates of interspecies histories float to the top, travelling quietly across the water surface for hours, days. Textures slowly take shape, shifted by the small currents and the forces of gravity. Upside-down, sculpture-like paintings.
